Synergy receives USDA FSIS “No Objection” letter for SYNTRx® 3200 & 3300 RTU

(June 1, 2011) Memphis, TN:  Synergy Technologies, Inc., the Shreveport, LA based food processing bacterial intervention firm, announced that they have received a “No objection” letter dated May 26, 2001 from the United States Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service regarding several “Ready-to-Use” solutions of the previously reviewed SYNTRx® product concentrates.

The patent pending SYNTRx family of processing aids is based upon a highly buffered food grade citric acid blend that has proven effective as a “processing aid” by the FDA under 21 CFR § 101.100 (a)(3)(ii), Food; exemptions from labeling, defined as “a substance that is added to a food for its technical or functional effect in the processing but is present in the finished food at insignificant levels and does not have any technical or functional effect in that food”.  In addition, the components of SYNTRx are 100% Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS).

SYNTRx 3200 RTU and SYNTRx 3300 RTU are formulated and shipped to the consumer at use concentrations, allowing the applicator to spray, dip, drench poultry or red meat carcasses, parts, trim and organs in the solution as yet another bacterial intervention step in their plants Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan or Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).

According to Jim Knocke, Synergy’s Technical Manager, “This will enable Synergy, our agents and distributors to offer a pre-made, pre-packaged bacterial intervention option to those smaller processing and fabrication facilities where acquiring our standard concentrates and then bringing them down to use form would be difficult from a space, equipment and financial perspective.”  Knocke added “the ability to package the RTU products in one gallon or even 32 ounce spray bottles will provide a much need solution to the smaller processor or value added facility by providing a chlorine-free intervention chemistry that is a plug and play solution to a current need.  We anticipate rolling out this new packaging option for the SYNTRx product line later this summer”.

Synergy Technologies, Inc. is a privately held specialty chemical firm located in Shreveport, LA with a concentration in food protection.  The firm produces and markets a revolutionary line of processing aids and anti-microbial products that can be used to provide a safe, non-toxic and economical solution to fight harmful food borne pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria and Campylobacter.  These products have been reviewed by both the US FDA and the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service, and subsequently obtained the necessary letters of “no objection” regarding their use for specific applications.
