| (June 20, 2011) Memphis, TN: Synergy Technologies, Inc., the Shreveport, LA based food processing bacterial intervention firm, announced that they have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Gruindag International, S.A. de C.V., Grupo Industrial y Agricola, based in Cuautla, Morelos, Mexico. The agreement will culminate with a full licensing agreement whereby Gruindag will locally produce, distribute and market the SYNTRx® product line of bacterial processing aids to the poultry, red meat and vegetable processing industry in Mexico, Central America and Columbia. The agreement comes after both parties worked to attain a “No objection” letter from the La Comisión Federal para la Protección contra Riesgos Sanitarios (Cofepris) of Mexico on January 12th, 2011, which allows the use of SYNTRx as a pH regulator of process water and for the control of Listeria, E. coli and Salmonella in poultry, red meat and vegetable processing facilities does not require a Sanitary Certificate of Pesticide. The addition of the SYNTRx product line to Gruindag’s present antimicrobial and sanitizer product line for agricultural use fully complements the firm’s presence in food protection from the field to processing. The utilization of SYNTRx 3200 to regulate the pH of chlorinated vegetable processing water will effectively boost the production of hypochlorous acid (HClO the sanitizing agent), thus optimizing booth the efficiency and the extent of the chlorine added. In addition, Gruindag plans to immediately commercialize the technology into the areas of poultry and red meat processing, which is a natural extension of their present business. According to Pedro Zarur Menez, Presidente del Consejo of Gruindag, “This agreement opens a great growth opportunity for our companies in our global expansion effort. The potential market for these products is huge, Mexico is one of the three major producers of poultry with 1.188 billion chickens per year. We are looking forward to work together with Synergy to manufacture in our Mexican plant and develop the market for the technological advanced SYNTRx products into Mexico, Central America and Colombia.”
