| (January 14, 2011) Memphis, TN: Synergy Technologies, Inc., the Shreveport, LA based food processing bacterial intervention firm, announced that they have received a “No objection” letter from the La Comisión Federal para la Protección contra Riesgos Sanitarios (Cofepris) of Mexico dated January 12th, 2011, regarding the use of their SYNTRx® processing aid antimicrobial products. Upon review, Cofepris has determined the use of SYNTRx as a pH regulator of process water and for the control of Listeria, E. coli and Salmonella in poultry, red meat and vegetable processing facilities does not require a Sanitary Certificate of Pesticide. The ruling opens the door for the commercialization of the SYNTRx products in Mexico. Prior to the ruling, Synergy had instigated discussions with potential Mexican firms to represent the firm and product line. Synergy anticipates concluding negotiations in the near future and making a separate announcement at that time. According to Randy Allen, President of Synergy Technologies, “We are excited about gaining this important ruling, especially on the heels of receiving a similar letter from Canadian (CFIA) authorities last year. This enables our company to quickly expand into the NAFTA region and in many cases support our US multi-national customer base in their processing plants located in either country.” Synergy Technologies, Inc. is a privately held specialty chemical firm located in Shreveport, LA with a concentration in food protection. The firm produces and markets a revolutionary line of processing aids and anti-microbial products that can be used to provide a safe, non-toxic and economical solution to fight harmful food borne pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria and Campylobacter. These products have been reviewed by both the US FDA and the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service, and subsequently obtained the necessary letters of “no objection” regarding their use for specific applications.
