(February 16, 2010) Shreveport, LA:  Synergy Technologies, Inc. announced today that they have received a “no objection” letter from Health Canada, Health Products and Food Branch extending the application of SYNTRx 3300 on beef carcass parts, trim, and organs without a potable water rinse. Synergy had previously (November 2008) received a similar no objection letter from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Food Safety Directorate, regarding the use of SYNTRx 3300 for carcass wash.

According to Randy Allen, President of Synergy Technologies, “this most recent development will provide U.S. and Canadian meat processors with an additional intervention methodology to add to their current multi-hurdle approaches, enhancing performance. This is another tool that can be employed safely, effectively and economically to assure the safe processing of beef, pork and a variety of red meat products.”

Furthermore, Dean Didato, Director Red Meat Business Unit for Synergy stated that “the expanded applications will allow for the processing of beef in and shipments between both countries, as SYNTRx 3300 has been successfully employed in the States for several years as a processing aid to reduce pathogenic contamination”. Didato went on to say that “SYNTRx, which is composed of Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) chemistries, has been widely successful in poultry, beef and pork processing facilities here in the States. We look forward to assisting our customers in building a comprehensive intervention program. ”
